Objectives of the study
disciplines

Teach students to master the basic concepts of the theory of partial differential equations and mathematical methods of investigation. Teach students to solve boundary value problems for hyperbolic and parabolic equations of mathematical physics.

As a result of the study, the student should be able to:
– to investigate the correctness of the basic boundary-value problems for hyperbolic and parabolic equations of mathematical physics;
– use the method of characteristics and the method of separation of variables in the solution of Cauchy problems and mixed problems for these equations of mathematical physics, respectively.

7

Prerequisites

Mathematical analysis, ordinary differential equations.

8

Content
disciplines

Classification and reduction to the canonical form of partial differential equations of the second order. Derivation of the basic equations of mathematical physics. Statement of boundary value problems for these equations. Their correctness according to Hadamard.
