Course goal

Preparation of students for the forthcoming teaching of information in institutions of general secondary education. The content of this discipline answers three main questions of the methodical disciplines: why teach the formatics what to study and how to teach computer science.

Prerequisites

Disciplines “Programming Methods and Informatics”, “Methods of teaching mathematics”, “Pedagogy”.

Course Topics

Discipline in the system of pedagogical knowledge. Objectives of teaching computer science. Principles of didactics and teaching of information. Methods, organizational forms, technical and software tools for teaching computer science. Informatics lesson. Control and evaluation of knowledge in computer science. The content of the curriculum, textbooks and teaching aids in informatics.

Features of teaching the basics of algorithmization and programming: Teaching programming on circles, facultatives, lyceums, specialized classes and schools. Methodology of teaching hardware and system software, text and graphic editors, computer presentations, spreadsheets, database management systems, the basics of web design, communication technologies and the Internet. Methodology of teaching questions related to information.
