Objectives of the study

Teach students to master the basic concepts of the theory of partial differential equations, mathematical methods of research and solution of the basic boundary value problems of mathematical physics. As a result of the study, the student should be able to: – investigate the correctness of the basic boundaryvalue problems for equations of mathematical physics;

Classification and reduction to the canonical form of partial differential equations of the second order. Derivation of the basic equations of mathematical physics. Statement of the basic boundary value problems. Hadamard correctness of boundary value problems. Basic methods of investigation and solution of the Cauchy problem and initialboundary value problems for hyperbolic and parabolic equations. Basic methods for investigating and solving boundary value problems for elliptic equations.
