Classification and reduction to the canonical form of partial differential equations of the second order. Derivation of the basic equations of mathematical physics. Statement of the basic boundary value problems. Hadamard correctness of boundary value problems. Basic methods of investigation and solution of the Cauchy problem and initial-boundary value problems for hyperbolic and parabolic equations. Basic methods for investigating and solving boundary value problems for elliptic equations. |
